Im Spanischen und Portugiesischen für Rucksack als Reisegepäck; entstanden aus mochil > mozo de recados > mutil, motil (Diminutiv von baskisch motxil) im Sinne von Botenjunge muchacho > lateinisch mutilus, mutilado, mocho, also ursprünglich `Botentasche, Dokumententasche´ 1).
